Veg Sandwich


  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium-sized cucumber, sliced
  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced
  • 1 medium-sized bell pepper (capsicum), sliced
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup boiled corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard sauce
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Butter or margarine, for toasting the bread slices


  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and mustard sauce together to make a spread.
  2. Take a bread slice and spread the mayonnaise-mustard sauce on it.
  3. Place some tomato slices, cucumber slices, onion slices, bell pepper slices, grated carrot, boiled corn kernels, and grated cheese on the bread slice.
  4. Sprinkle some black pepper powder and salt over the vegetables.
  5. Cover the sandwich with another bread slice and spread some more mayonnaise-mustard sauce on it.
  6. Repeat the above steps to make more sandwiches.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  8. Spread some butter or margarine on one side of each sandwich.
  9. Place the sandwiches on the pan, with the buttered side facing down.
  10. Toast the sandwiches until the bread turns golden brown and crispy.
  11. Flip the sandwiches over and toast the other side.
  12. Once both sides are toasted, remove the sandwiches from the pan.
  13. Cut the sandwiches in half or into quarters.
  14. Serve the Veg Sandwich hot with ketchup or chutney.
